We're here to kill the awkward silence.
Every group has that pause — nobody wants to volunteer, and nobody quite trusts the one person clicking a random name generator off in the corner. Person Picker exists to end it. We turn the pick into something multiplayer, transparent, and fair, so the whole room trusts the result — because the whole room watched it happen.
One fair pick, witnessed by everyone
Ordinary random pickers are lonely and easy to fake. One person clicks a button in private and everyone else just has to believe them. That isn't fairness — it's trust nobody actually earned.
So we put everyone in the same room, each on their own device, and reveal the same result on every screen at the exact same instant. No secret re-rolls. No “let me just try that one more time.” The outcome is decided in the open and remembered by everyone who saw it — which is the whole point.
One room
Everyone joins the same room from their own device and watches the same live roster.
One moment
The pick, the animation, and the confetti land on every screen at the exact same instant.
No re-rolls
The server decides the outcome in the open — there's no undo, and nobody can secretly try again.
It began with a standup
Person Picker started life as a tiny tool for the least important question of the day: who runs the morning standup? Volunteering was awkward, going alphabetically was boring, and one person spinning a private wheel always felt a little rigged. So we built a wheel the whole team could watch spin at the same time.
It worked. And then it got gloriously out of hand. One game became six. The wheel grew a rock-paper-scissors bracket, a hide-and-seek board, a timing challenge you play by feel, and a monster that stalks you room by room through a house. Different flavors of drama, same simple idea underneath.
That idea never changed: a low-stakes, genuinely joyful way to let a group decide who gets picked — and to actually agree it was fair.
The rules we pick by
No sign-up, ever
No accounts, no downloads, no ads. Open the site, start a game, share a link. Your name and emoji live on your own device — not in some database.
Works anywhere
Phone, laptop, tablet — if it has a browser, it can be in the room. Nobody has to install a thing or create a profile to join.
Any size group
From three people around a desk to a lecture hall of students, every game scales to whoever's in the room.
Fair by design
The result is decided by the server and revealed to everyone at once. Nobody can fake it, and nobody has to take your word for it.
Go on — let the group decide
Pick a game, share the link, and settle it out loud. No sign-up, no downloads, no awkward silence.
